Good morning and happy Monday! If you’re new on the blog, on Monday’s I link up with the lovely Katie from Healthy Diva Eats and lots of lovely other bloggers that you can check out over on her site 🙂

This weekend was my first wedding anniversary, so we went back to Vermont (where I grew up and where we got married) to celebrate. We really just wanted to be active, spend time together, and relive the day a little, so that’s exactly what we did.

Saturday, we hiked Mount Mansfield. It was just the right balance of challenging, fun, and beautiful views.

It ended up being much shorter than planned since we were sore from the hike, but it was still a great way to start the day. Next, we headed out lunch at the restaurant where we had our rehearsal dinner. I enjoyed a delicious fruity drink as usual.

photo 3For dessert, we went to the bakery that made the cupcakes we served at the wedding. We only enjoyed one while we were there but bought lots to take with us.

photo 4After that, we went back to the site where we actually got married. I cried a lot 🙂 Our pictures are on my other camera, which I didn’t have time to upload. Sorry!

When we got back to my parents’ house, we were ready to eat our preserved cake top! I was really hoping it worked but I had heard horror stories so I wasn’t sure how it would taste.

photo 2…. It was delicious!!! I really can’t believe it. If you preserve it correctly though, it really works. I may have some for breakfast!

Time for me to get back to reality. I hope you’re having as marvelous a Monday as I am.

🙂 we are goofy most of the time but we are big sentimental saps underneath it all. It was such a perfect way to celebrate. And I feel like as blog friends, we kind of know each other 🙂

Same here! I love hiking and there is some near where we live, but nothing that compares.
